What is functional nutrition?

Functional nutrition is wellness using the power of food, and optimizing other lifestyle factors.

What you put in the body (food + drink), how you sleep and manage stress as well as thoughts and beliefs determine how the body restores balance.  Research shows that this approach can prevent, treat and reverse many chronic illnesses. Teaching clients the “how” of physiology and “why” of lifestyle are integral to the work in functional and personalized nutrition.

Wellness encompasses your social history, emotional connections and spiritual practices, meaningful relationships to others and self as well as time spent in Nature. Looking closer at lab work and genetics may provide clues that are sometimes overlooked. Counting calories and how many minutes you exercise do not show the full picture. It includes personalized nutrition services and working collaboratively as part of an integrated team.
